Ian North, Brian Weldon, and Ruthie North celebrate successful finishes at the "Run before We Rock" 5k and 10k.
This past Saturday, She Is Safe staff, family, and friends gathered at the Celebrate Freedom festival.
We ran to promote Run to Rescue, set up a booth with Refugee Beads, and invited our friends at Courtney White Photography to take photos of the event! We were excited to talk with festival-goers about what God is doing to free and empower women and girls in some of the hardest places on earth, and how to get involved.
The day started early with a 10k race. SIS Vice President of U.S. Operations Brian Weldon took second in his age division, while Director of Communications Ian North took fourth in his.
After running the good race, we met up at the She Is Safe booth to begin talking about God’s work through SIS around the world.
Part of our display was a self-standing, life-sized cutout of a woman from India. She turned out to be a very attentive listener, and she smiled for a few photos with SIS staff.

Of course, one of the greatest delights of the event was talking with friends new and old about what God is doing through SIS.
Thanks to local radio station 104.7 The FISH for setting up this great event, and to Courtney White Photography for the excellent pictures!
