‘Tis grace that’s brought me safe this far, and grace will lead me home.

In the wake of the horrible tragedy in Connecticut, it is easy to lose hope. We mourn this immense loss throughout our nation, and look to God for the hope and comfort we need. I have been moved with even greater determination to cherish and protect the little ones who are vulnerable to those who would steal their lives.

One of the ways we do that is by providing safe places of learning, and the good news of Christ. Our co-workers in Indonesia are making final preparations for festivities for over 3,082 children who are in our Children’s Outreach Program.  They will celebrate Christmas with songs, the Birth of the King drama and gifts of school supplies, treats, and clothes. It’s not too late for a year end gift that will help us bless these little ones.

You can also help us shower God’s grace on this new generation this coming year, too. A one-time gift is truly appreciated, but automatic giving is the best.  It helps us know how many more children we can invite into this program.  Your giving to the Children’s Outreach Fund will be used for our work that is restoring the lives of children in Indonesia, China, India and Syria. The women in SIS Transformation Groups in Indonesia are also gathering for their annual Christmas festivities. One of these groups performed drama, sang songs, read scripture, and told the Christmas story. Each member of the group performed, and most of them sang. You can view the photo gallery of their group’s celebration below.

Women also use this gathering to share successes and discuss challenges they’ve experienced in order to create a plan for the coming year. They share how their lives have been changed since they joined the group, giving thanks to God for the radical improvements in their community.

By strengthening these mothers, children and families, you are helping to build communities that value and protect those most vulnerable to abuse and exploitation.  I can’t think of a better way to respond to Christ’s coming as a little one, born in a manger.

Blessing you this Christmas,
