south-sudan-emergency-response

Civil unrest and economic failure in Mali and South Sudan create a desperate need for emergency funds.

Armed conflict and crop failures in Mali have led to a crisis: 800,000 people are without food, and approximately 3 million are expected to be without something to eat in the coming months. She Is Safe is pressing forward in partnership with the church in Mali to equip the war-torn nation’s most vulnerable women and children. Emergency Response – Mali provides for workers who are exiled, and for rebuilding broken lives.

Men, women, and children have fled their homes to refugee camps within South Sudan and neighboring countries to escape the escalating violence. She Is Safe co-workers in South Sudan are working to provide emergency aid to displaced women. Emergency Response – South Sudan provides:

  • aid to over 5,000 elderly, widows and children
  • counseling and care
  • personal connections to local churches that can provide appropriate care long after the emergency is past

Please join us in our efforts to bring freedom and empowerment to women and girls in these war-torn countries. You can learn more about these and other countries She Is Safe works on our Work page.
