mali news blogMali has slowly begun to recover from the violent Islamic militant takeover in 2012. Restoration is never easy, but despite sporadic attacks, stability has been increasing.

Recently, many of the shops in Timbuktu which were destroyed or closed due to the violence have now reopened. Most of the infrastructure has been rebuilt, and tourism is returning. It is wonderful to see the rebuilding of a city and a culture after so much suffering.

This period of conflict has left women and girls even more vulnerable to exploitation. As we thank God for the growing peace in Mali, please pray that this peace will continue as we work to nurture freedom, faith and income generation for women and girls.
