During the season leading into Christmas, as the demands of the holiday grow, I always take time to think about how deeply I long for God’s love to enter the lives of little girls where She Is Safe works.
La Ni left her village under the shadow of son preference, poverty, and a one-child policy. Neglected by her parents, she escaped to the city looking for work and a better life, but she found a different kind of darkness waiting there. La Ni was enslaved in a red light district.
La Ni’s story is a common one, and the younger girls in her village will likely follow in her footsteps. But the light of God’s love is coming to visit them, and they will be surprised that it comes to them from women and girls who have been rescued and restored from sexual exploitation.
You see, through our work in China’s red light district, La Ni came to know Christ. She found freedom and restoration in a safe home, grew in her knowledge of God’s love, and joined with several others to return to their villages with the Good News.
All over the globe, the love of God is poised to enter villages, red light districts, and the lives of women and girls. I invite you to join us to Light the Dark this Christmas and beyond. Please follow the link below to our Christmas catalog to explore the ways that God is working, and prayerfully consider where you would like to join in:
